A Community of Professionals Ages 21-45 Brought Together By Events
There are lots of frustrations to running a social group. Those frustrations include but are not limited to planning events and doing your best, but you can't make everyone happy, working with venues who don't keep their word and let our members down (we won't name names!), trying for 3 years to work with programmers to get a web 2.0 site, and having them quit on the job and run away with your payments... I could go on and on!
But I keep doing it year after year, and the biggest reason is, I know what BYPA does is good for the community! The best thing in the world (besides the smile of my daughter) is when a member comes up to us after an event and says, "Thank you so much for organizing this! I met lots of great people and it was so much fun!" That just makes my day. Or when someone says they met their boyfriend/girlfriend at an event, or made a great business partnership at one of our networking events, or I get to to recommend a great venue to someone who is looking for a place to hold their own event. These kinds of things make it all worth while.
After almost 7 years of running the Boston Young Professionals Association, with over 12,000 members and over 800 events, we've made a lot of these connections. We'd love to hear about the connections you've made through BYPA! Please leave a comment here and let us know about your BYPA connection story. Thanks so much for being member of BYPA!
