In May 2012 I graduated from Simmons College with a Masters degree in Library and Information Science, and a Masters in History. In the long term I want to work in an academic or federal archives, but at present I cash paychecks for my work as a droog at New England Comics. Since creator-owned comics, late night TV, and video games are passions of mine, why not get paid for it?
Introspective and contemplative, I have a deep appreciation for the ephemeral way we in the present remember the past and will be remembered as past in turn.
Wherever I can I fill my world with variations of lowbrow art - pop surrealism artwork, kitsch fashion, electronic and jazz-fusion. Animation from the 30s, 40s and 70s such as the works of Max Fleischer, Jack Kinney and Ralph Bakshi have all piqued my interest due to their exaggerated design and fervent characters.
I have been living in Boston going on 3 years, but between work and school I haven't had much opportunity to really explore the city and its people. Now that my formal education is complete for the time being I fully intend to make up for lost time by meeting new people and hopefully finding someone who shares similar, if not exact, interests. Thank god for being 24 in a city as lively as Boston.
