Sales Job in the downtown area - Work for the world's largest publishing company!

Pearson is the world’s largest publishing company (www.PearsonEd.com). We have a highly coveted Sales Representative position available. This position is based in our Boston, MA office.

There is no difference at our company between an inside sales rep and an outside sales rep position. Each position covers their own $3 million territory (inside sales reps do not "support" the outside team but rather have their own territory).

A Sales Representative maintains an inherited client base of 80 colleges and is responsible for its continued growth. Sales Representatives call colleges and universities, talk with professors and assist them with matching our books to their courses. Travel is expected a few times per year or as needed in the territory. Majority of sales is done via the phone. S/he reports to the District Sales Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·  Degree from a 4-year college with proven academic success

·  Proven sales success reaching and exceeding quotas

·  Minimum 1 year sales experience

·  Strong ability to develop rapport, overcome objections and persuade via phone

·  Aggressive, sales driven attitude

·  Upbeat personality, not easily discouraged

·  Superior verbal, written and phone-based communication skills

·  Self starter who works independently and productively with a positive attitude

·  Confident communicator with active listening skills

·  Highly organized, detail-oriented, persistent and able to prioritize multiple tasks

·  Computer savvy
