Cambridge/Somerville Neighborhood meet n greet
Hello fellow Cambridge/Somerville residents,
Following in the BackBay group's footsteps, I think it is a great idea to have a neighborhood meet somewhere in Cambridge this week or next. We can decide on the venue depending on the interest level and what works for most but I am thinking we meet somewhere at either Porter or Harvard square. I am going to throw out this Thursday or next Tuesday as recommendations. Reply back with your preference.

Yea. To be honest I don't know how to create an event. So I pinged Emre just a little while back, asking him if he wants to re-post that event listing he previously made. That'd be the best, since the man figured it out.
I agree we should invite both the Cambridge, as well as Somerville folks. Good thought.

OK VJ, just keep us posted. Maybe if you don't hear back from Emre soon, we can just post it as a discussion on each of the groups.

Hey guys,
To set up a meeting, basically post a new discussion to the neighborhood discussion boards, then ask the moderator of the site you want to set up an official event and they will do the work of announcing it to the whole group. Just make sure to give out enough of an advance notice.
I wont be back in the states for another week. I am hoping to set up a second meet the week of the 16th but feel free to set something up before then.

Hey, so it looks like it was indeed too soon to get an event together. Nevertheless, I'm still up for meeting for a quick drink/bite at the Porter Sq. Tavern tomorrow evening, or even at say John Harvards next to Harvard Sq. around 7:30pm. So if anyone else is up to meet a new face, yap and greet, then ping me or drop a line here and we could get together. It may definitely help us all get started in knowing each other, and I'm sure over time we'll build up a group of regulars. Looking forward to hearing from folks.

I am up for it as well. I have a slight preference for John Harvard's, but really, it doesn't matter to me.

Hmmm... so I went by John Harvard's, admittedly a little late (parking was tough) and I walked through but couldn't tell if anyone was there or not. Maybe we should try again... and plan a little better how we're going to find each other. It wasn't a waste of a trip - I totally went shopping at Urban Outfitters instead.
